As the title suggests, we’re talking about our regular trips to Miami!
Last October was the first time, and this year we’ve already been 3 more times! It takes about 5 hours non-stop to Miami from where we live, which is Jacksonville. In terms of distance, it’s about the same from Tokyo to Kagawa.
And why are we going to Miami so often? Well it’s because we have some wonderful friends there!
We met Saul and Yui through a friend who connected us with this line of thought: "The wife is Japanese and the husband is Hispanic and they live in Florida. You have something in common, so let me introduce you." So he introduced us because we both live in Florida, but we live at the uppermost eastern tip of Florida, and Saul and Yui live at the southern tip. But, thank God for technology! We meet often to talk on Zoom, and when it comes to connecting people, Yui is the connection queen! Through her, we have also met and made many wonderful friends.
We have also been able to participate in the Japanese Christian Community MIAMI (JCCM) Bible Study, which Saul-san and Yui-san are leading in Miami.
Not only does JCCM offer a Japanese Bible Study, but also Spanish and Japanese language classes! They have a Bible study, praise and worship, sharing testimonies, and wonderful fellowship during coffee time. Spanish, English, Japanese, you can hear them all as we enjoy our time together during coffee time!

We’ve also had the opportunity to help out with the worship team.
Since last year, we have been to Miami four times. Saul, Yui and JCCM have been so welcoming and wonderful to us. We can be serious and have heartfelt conversations, and we can talk about nonsense and have fun. We are so grateful to have friends like them!

We were able to use Sound Forged Studios, which is run by our dear friend Victor, who we also met through Yui!
As we wrote on our previous blog, on September 10th, we will be part of a concert with the JCCM Worship Team at Betesda Baptist Church in Miami! Pastor Frank from Betesda opened his doors to us and we’re so excited to celebrate their anniversary with them! We are really looking forward to celebrating Betesda Baptist Church's 9th anniversary with Casa Lopez Music and JCCM!
